The focus for this home, built for a young and growing family, is to exude warmth and comfort from the moment you step inside. This comes through in the selection of materials and furnishings, but also in the grouping of the living spaces within. Despite the difficulties of a largely vertical site, the separation of the distinct nodes within the home feels natural and leads to an organized ease of living.
The entrance to the home sits below street level to create a hidden entry and add a layer of privacy.
Curved, handcrafted details in both the stair treads and handrail bring a sculptural dimension to the entry.
